Artnova Studio & Galleries was established in 1989 and gave birth
to the concept of an exclusive studio for artists to design and
create Soft Art Paintings in a new technique developed in Israel
by local artists.In the soft painting technique the artist uses
synthetic acrylic fibers in a wide variety of shades
(substituting the familiar oil or water based colors which artists
use in a standard painting). For the purpose of rendering the image
the artist makes shapes using these fibers, pieces of synthetic felt
or burlap and colorful acrylic strings of different thicknesses, thus
effectively painting with these materials to create their ideas.
The special effects achieved with Soft Paintings are obtained using
multidimensional harmony which has brought about a breakthrough in
the process of creating original art.
Soft Paintings in the Soft Art technique is the world’s only studio
dedicated to the creation of Soft Paintings which are created
exclusively by Arntova’s talented artists.
Replacing the painter’s brush the artist uses a needle to fasten the
materials to the “canvas” which is either synthetic felt or burlap.
The artist starts with a single needle and paints his work, using
strings instead of the pencil, and fibers instead of colors.
When the painting becomes thick with the layers of fiber the artist
uses a special punch with a hundred needles to work the fiber in and
this allows for complex shading of layer upon layer of fiber where
variations in color is achieved through the shading and layering of
the different colored fibers.
The beauty of this technique is that at any time prior to
finalizing their creation the artist can easily remove these
fibers and continue working, without any waste of materials.

There are almost no restrictions on the size, softness, color and
shape of the works that Artnova’s artists can create. The paintings
can either be frame ready, stretched on an internal hidden frame or
made into tapestries which can be fixed on the wall with Velcro tape.
Soft paintings are a perfect solution for large wall decorations,
conclave and concave rounded walls, or for the cover and
concealment of electrical cabinets and air conditioning vents.
Soft paintings are a unique solution for places where frames are not
feasible like entrance lobbies, conference rooms and halls,
stairwells, ships, yachts, aircraft, and so on.In addition to being

recently metal works.Johanan’s Soft Paintings are based on

and imagination. Johanan’s Soft Painting style is mostly figurative
with a clear tendency to the abstract; very strong and very unique.
Artnova has many fine artists who express their ideas in bright,
bold, original works, whether they are figurative, abstract,
reproductions, or landscapes. Viktoria Taelevsky’s passion is
for Flowers,Landscapes and Abstract works; Elena Ympolsky favors
the Israeli Folk Dancers, and Jewish Themes.Shai Mendel Shaked is
